HOW IT ALL BEGAN
AKN Engineering is family founded and was established in 2019 after 20+ years of cumulative industry experience our founders Asish and Pavlina decided they wanted to lead a Civil Engineering business which stands out and above all else, provides consistent, exceptional, on demand site engineering services.
We are proud to share that we are an ethnic minority business (this alone is something we are super proud of) and not only that, we are also 50% female lead!
We pride ourselves on our commitment to diversity and inclusivity. From our humble beginnings in setting out services, we have expanded our offerings to include site engineering, topographic surveys, as-built surveys, machine control, volume calculations and piling and we have plans to continue our growth so that we can wider serve our client's needs.
Our versatile engineering team has successfully contributed to a wide range of projects, from highway construction to residential developments, catering to both private and large-scale civil engineering ventures. With our technical acumen, supervisory and forward planning skills, we offer invaluable insights and support at every stage of construction. ASISH CHAUHAN
Director and Senior Lead Engineer
With a 12 years’ experience in setting out, surveying and site engineering as well as managing large construction projects Asish has a passion for training and supporting his team of growing engineers. As Lead Engineer at AKN Engineering he utilises his knowledge, hard work and positive attitude to deliver and exceed client expectations. Health & Safety is of utmost importance to Asish and something he views with a high level of importance for all projects. With a track record of complex infrastructure projects, both RC and steel frame projects from schools to high-risers and everything in between, Asish has some sought after experience under his belt.

PAVLINA CHAUHAN BSc
Land Surveyor, CAD Specialist and Operations
Surveyor and Operations manager with 10+ years experience, armed with a masters in Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Pavlina brings a solid foundation of knowledge to the table. She is proficient in land surveying techniques including total stations, GPS and leveling instruments. She also has extensive experience in using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS software for design and mapping. Pavlina is committed to delivering exceptional results for our clients. Pavlina is the oil to the machine and keeps our operations running smoothly in the background too.

Venkata Krishna Alluri MSc - Site Engineer
A qualified Civil Engineer with hands-on experience delivering complex highway construction projects, Venkata brings a strong blend of technical expertise and site management skills. He has a solid understanding of both building and highways works, consistently contributing to safe, high-quality project delivery on fast-paced infrastructure sites.

Isaac Vanlalremruata MSc - Site Engineering
Isaac is a skilled Civil Site Engineer with over four years of hands-on experience in highways, infrastructure, and reinforced concrete construction. He has played key roles on major UK infrastructure projects including the Silvertown Tunnel and Thames Tideway, where he delivered setting out, QA, and site coordination using advanced survey tools like robotic total stations and Civil 3D.
During his previous time at AKN Engineering, Isaac contributed to both hospital and highways schemes, demonstrating strong communication and technical skills across drainage, earthworks, and concrete frameworks. He holds a Master’s in Construction Management from the University of East London and brings a methodical, safety-first approach to every site he works on.

Vinay Maddipati MSc- Senior Site Engineer
A highly experienced Civil Engineer, Vinay leads by example across our most demanding highways and high-spec residential projects. With a deep understanding of site operations and a sharp eye for detail, he consistently delivers precision and quality under pressure. His forward-thinking approach, technical know-how, and leadership on site make him an essential part of our project delivery success.

Sandeep brings a strong academic foundation to the team, with a Master’s in Project Management and a Bachelor’s in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Now developing his practical skills on site, he contributes a growing understanding of both building and highway construction. Focused, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, Sandeep is committed to delivering quality from day one.

Ramesh joined AKN Engineering in May 2025 and has already made a standout impression with both our team and our clients. With a Master's degree in Civil Engineering and Construction Management from Heriot-Watt University, he brings a strong technical foundation and a fantastic work ethic to site.
In just a short time, Ramesh has proven he can set out independently and manage tasks with precision and confidence. His positive attitude, quick learning, and calm presence have made him a favourite among site teams. SITE ENGINEERING
Site engineering services play a critical role in the construction process, providing expertise and support to ensure the successful execution of a project. These services encompass a wide range of activities, including site investigation, surveying, and topographical mapping. Site engineers work closely with the design team and construction crew to establish the necessary groundwork, determine the optimal layout, and oversee the implementation of plans on-site.
TOPOGRAPHICAL SURVEYS
Topographical surveys are detailed assessments of the natural and man-made features on a specific piece of land. These surveys provide crucial information about the elevation, contours, and physical characteristics of the site, including buildings, trees, bodies of water, and other relevant elements. By conducting topographical surveys, engineers and planners can gain a comprehensive understanding of the terrain, which is essential for making informed decisions during the design and construction phases of a project.
SETTING OUT
Setting out is a vital process in construction that involves marking the precise locations and dimensions of structures, roads, or other elements on a construction site. It ensures that the project is executed accurately and in accordance with the design plans. Surveyors and engineers use various tools and techniques to establish reference points, levels, and alignments, allowing construction teams to follow precise measurements and positioning during the building phase.
AS-BUILT SURVEYS
As-built surveys are conducted typically at the completion of a construction project to document the actual constructed conditions of the site and its improvements. These surveys serve as a comparison to the original design plans and specifications provided by the engineer during the planning phase. By conducting as-built surveys, engineers can ensure that the constructed elements align with the approved design and meet all required standards and regulations.
MACHINE CONTROL
Machine control for earth moving involves the creation of precise digital models and plans, which are then translated into real-time instructions for construction equipment. Through the integration of advanced technologies such as GPS, sensors, and software interfaces, these machines are guided to execute excavation and grading tasks with exceptional accuracy and efficiency, resulting in reduced material waste, optimised project timelines, and enhanced overall productivity in earth-moving operations.
The main goal of volume calculation is to find out a volume of material that was mined or heaped up in predefined area and to verify if the volume corresponds to the expected value stated in project documentation. The volume is determined by a difference of topographies from two survey phases or by a difference between the survey and the project documentation.
